"Do you never look at yourself when you abuse another person?": Young Madrasa Maulana was sodomising 14-year-old boy on campus, would drag child to his room, abuse, and threaten with severe consequences if he disclosed anything, arrested

Hyderabad: A madrassa caretaker was arrested on Sunday arrested for allegedly sodomizing a 14-year-old student on the campus under Santosh Nagar Police Station limits in Hyderabad. The accused was produced in a court and later sent to judicial custody.

Police said, the 21-year-old accused has been allegedly sexually assaulting the victim, who used to stay with other boy students on the institution’s premises, for the past two months.

The accused used to take the boy to his room and assault him and also threatened him with dire consequences to ensure the victim do not reveal anything about the assault to anyone said police as reported by TOI.

However, the boy narrated to his aunt about the sexual assault after the accused threatened another student for talking to the victim.

Police said as quoted by TOI, "The victim saw the accused threatening another student for speaking to me and he got scared. Following this, he told his aunt about the repeated sexual assault,"

Subsequently, the boy’s aunt approached the Santosh Nagar police on Saturday and lodged an FIR in connection with the incident. The teen's mother, who works in the Gulf, was also informed about the incident.

Based on the aunt’s complaint, Santosh Nagar police registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and initiated an investigation. The boy was sent to a government hospital for a medical examination.

"The accused has been arrested and produced before the POCSO court. He has been sent in judicial remand for 14 days," deputy commissioner of police (DCP), South Zone, P Sai Chaitanya said.
