The incident came to light following a complaint filed by the victim’s mother. According to the details provided, Arif and Rizwan deceitfully lured the young minor girl into a car, under the pretense of offering her a mobile phone. They then transported her to a remote location, where they committed the gang rape inside the moving vehicle. The situation escalated when their car, in a desperate attempt to flee, crashed into an electric pole.
Following this traumatic event, the police responded promptly, arresting both individuals involved. The victim was immediately taken to the Gonda District Women’s Hospital for medical examination, and her statement was officially recorded in front of the magistrate, ensuring that all procedural safeguards were followed to support her case.
Further investigations revealed that one of the accused, Arif, had originally acquired the car used in the crime by misleading a friend, stating he needed it to attend a relative's funeral. However, his actual intentions were far more sinister. "One of the accused, Arif said that he had borrowed the car from a friend by telling him that he had to go to attend the last rites of some relative," reported a police officer involved in the case.
Reports indicate that instead of attending any funeral, Arif drove the car to Balrampur to pick up Rizwan. Together, they approached an 17-year-old minor Hindu girl near the Gonda Nagar Kotwali area, falsely promising her a new phone. They then drove towards Maharajganj, where they committed the gangrape within the confines of a Swift Dzire. Their escape attempt was foiled when their vehicle collided with an electric pole and a shop's shutter right in front of the Maharajganj Police Station, leading to their immediate arrest.
Following the shocking gang rape incident in Uttar Pradesh's Gonda district, the case swiftly gained attention as locals became aware of the crime and immediately alerted the police. The Nagar Kotwali police responded quickly to the scene, ensuring the victim's immediate transfer to safety and notifying her family members, who promptly filed a case against the perpetrators.

Nagar Kotwal Manoj Kumar Pathak reported on the rapid arrest and subsequent incarceration of the accused. "Mohammad Arif (20) and Mohammad Rizwan (20) have been arrested and sent to jail," stated Pathak, highlighting the police's prompt action in apprehending the suspects.
Further details emerged as the City Police Station in-charge, Manoj Kumar Pathak, elaborated on the legal proceedings. "A case has been registered based on a complaint filed by the victim’s mother on Sunday, September 8." In her distressing complaint, the mother recounted the harrowing ordeal her daughter endured. She described how her daughter was deceitfully lured by Mohammad Arif and Mohammad Rizwan, forcibly taken into their car, and driven to an isolated spot on the Circular Road. There, the accused committed the heinous act of rape inside the moving vehicle. In a panic, the assailants lost control of the car, leading to a collision with an electric pole, which played a crucial role in the sequence of events that allowed for their eventual capture.
"The Police officer added that the accused fled the scene and abandoned the car," further noted in the police report, pointing to the chaotic aftermath as the criminals attempted to evade capture. This additional detail about the culprits fleeing the scene underscores the panic and disorder following the crash, which ultimately led to their arrest.
After being gangraped, she demonstrated extraordinary courage by reaching her home on foot to inform her family of the grim events. "The victim reached her home on foot and when her family returned the next day, she informed them about the incident," details the resilient steps taken by the victim in the aftermath of her gangrape.
Driven by a determination to seek justice, her family promptly escorted her to the police station to report the crime. The police acted swiftly on the complaint lodged by the victim's mother. "On the complaint of the victim's mother, the police have registered a case against both the accused Arif and Rizwan and arrested them," confirmed ASP Eastern, who also noted that "the victim has been sent for medical examination" to aid the ongoing investigation and ensure thorough documentation of the crime.
The disturbing details of the incident were further outlined in a complaint by a woman from the same locality. She recounted that on September 7, while she was away, her 17-year-old daughter was left vulnerable at home. Seizing this opportunity, "two youths named Arif and Rizwan took her in a car on the pretext of giving her a mobile phone and raped her one by one in the moving car." The brutality of the attack was compounded by the culprits' decision to abandon the victim in a local market, fleeing the scene to evade capture.
Despite the trauma, "the victim somehow reached her home on foot and the next day when she returned with her husband, her daughter informed her about the incident." Motivated by the victim’s brave disclosure, the police instituted charges reflecting the gravity of the accusations. The authorities have lodged a case under severe sections, including rape, leading to the prompt arrest of Mohammad Arif, a resident of Pantnagar Forbesganj Kotwali Nagar, and Mohammad Rizwan, from Bhagwatiganj district Balrampur.
