Amanullah, identified as a former leader of the Purbo Banglar Communist Party, has a notorious criminal background with two decades spent in prison for involvement in two separate murder cases. New details have surfaced about the logistics and execution of the plan orchestrated by US-Bangladesh citizen Akhtaruzzaman, alias Shaheen, in the murder of Bangladeshi MP Anwarul Azim Anar. Akhtaruzzaman not only masterminded the murder but also facilitated a well-equipped hideout for his hired killers. He rented an apartment in Kolkata, specifically for housing his team, which included two additional accomplices, Jihad and Siam, who managed to enter India from Bangladesh without passports. For this apartment, Akhtaruzzaman shelled out Rs 1 lakh per month, illustrating the financial lengths he went to in planning this crime. His visit to Kolkata on April 30th, along with Amanullah, was a part of the final preparations before carrying out the assassination.

In a chilling turn of events post-murder, the culprits resorted to dismembering Anwarul Azim Anar's body, packing the remains into suitcases. These suitcases were then handed over to an Indian contact, tasked with disposing of them, further complicating the investigation due to the crossing of national jurisdictions and the involvement of multiple criminals.

Currently, Amanullah along with his associates Mustafizur and Faisal are in custody. During their interrogation, they admitted to their roles in the gruesome crime. However, the exact whereabouts of Anar’s remains remain shrouded in mystery. Amanullah has stated during questioning that he could not pinpoint where the body parts were ultimately disposed of, as the task was distributed among several individuals involved in the crime. He disclosed that the suitcases containing Anar's remains were passed between different hands, obscuring the final locations.

Amanullah, the primary suspect in the murder, disclosed to the Bangladeshi police that he had agreed to commit the crime for a payment of 5 crore takas (approximately ₹3.5 crore).

After carrying out the assassination, Amanullah returned to Dhaka on May 15th, with his accomplices following shortly thereafter. Amanullah was apprehended by the police in Bangladesh on a Tuesday night, and based on the information he provided, his accomplices Faisal and Mostafizur were also arrested.

In a surprising twist, Akhtaruzzaman’s brother, Shahiduzzaman, who serves as the mayor of Kotchandpur Municipality in Bangladesh, provided insights into the personal connections within the case. Akhtaruzzaman Came to India on an American Passport, Fled to Nepal

As per the information of the intelligence agencies, Akhtaruzzaman, the alleged mastermind behind the murder of Bangladeshi MP Anwarul Azim Anar. Intelligence agencies have now reported that Akhtaruzzaman has fled to Nepal and is currently believed to be hiding in Kathmandu. His journey involved traveling from Kolkata to Delhi, from where he made his escape to Nepal.

The Daily Star published statements from Gopal Biswas, a friend of the deceased Anar, who confirmed police suspicions regarding Akhtaruzzaman's involvement in the murder. Gopal highlighted that Akhtaruzzaman is from an influential family and utilized an American passport to enter Kolkata. According to Gopal, Akhtaruzzaman orchestrated the assassination with the assistance of seven other Bangladeshis, who subsequently escaped following the murder. It has been noted that Akhtaruzzaman holds dual citizenship, being both a US and a Bangladeshi national.
