In the heart of Bihar, in a place known as Kaimur, a tale of love turned tragic came to light, painting a grim picture of betrayal and loss. A young man, who once vowed to share every breath with his beloved, became the architect of her demise. This chilling episode concluded with the recovery of the girl's body, hidden away from the eyes of the world for 20 days, marking a sorrowful end to a love story that dared to cross the boundaries society had laid down. The authorities, upon uncovering this heinous act, apprehended the accused, ensuring he faced the consequences of his actions, as the wheels of justice began to turn.

The story began with a girl from Kaimur, who saw beyond the confines of societal norms and found love in Shafiq Ansari. Their bond seemed unbreakable, a connection that felt as if it had been nurtured over lifetimes. Her trust in Shafiq was absolute; his call was her command, a testament to their seemingly unshakable bond. Even a simple request from Shafiq was enough for her to venture into the unknown, as was the case a few days prior when she followed him into the mountains, oblivious to the fate that awaited her.

Her belief in their future together was unwavering. Against all odds, she was prepared to stand by Shafiq, to face the world with him by her side. Yet, beneath the surface of Shafiq Ansari's affection lurked a sinister deceit. Her compliance and faith in his intentions masked the impending doom. The revelation of Shafiq Ansari's true nature was a truth too harsh, coming to light only when escape was beyond her grasp. The once-promised protector became her predator, exploiting her trust, having a sexual relation with her all night long before cruelly slitting her throat with a knife he bought to peel apples. He discarded her life on the mountain, her final resting place marked by the underbrush, a grim reminder of the peril lurking within misplaced trust and love gone awry.

In the quiet district of Kaimur, Bihar, a distressing case unfolded when a young Hindu girl had mysteriously disappeared, prompting her worried family to seek the help of the police. Despite their efforts, for several days, no one had any clue about her whereabouts—not her family, nor the police who diligently worked on her case. Amidst this uncertainty, the investigation took a significant turn when the police began to explore a different angle: a possible love affair that might have led to her disappearance.

Acting on this new line of inquiry, the police focused their attention on the girl's lover, a man named Shafiq Ansari. Under suspicion, Shafiq was brought in for questioning. What followed during the police interrogation was a shocking confession that took everyone by surprise. "He told that he had killed her by stabbing her with an apple knife, threw her down a hill and ran away." This revelation was horrifying not only in the act itself but in the casual use of an everyday object to commit such a heinous crime.

The breakthrough in the case, however, came from the use of electronic surveillance by the Bihar Police. Without this modern investigative technique, uncovering the truth behind the girl's disappearance would have been significantly more challenging. It was through analyzing Shafiq Ansari's mobile location and his last call details that the police were finally able to piece together the tragic events. "This case would not have been opened even if Bihar Police had not taken the help of electronic surveillance," showcasing the importance of technology in solving crimes.

For 20 days, the girl remained missing, leading her family to believe that perhaps she had run away to start a new life elsewhere. This hope, however faint, was a comfort against the growing despair. However, the grim reality was that "the girl had died 20 days ago and her dead body was rotting lying in the bushes." This tragic outcome marked a sorrowful end to a young life and a stark reminder of the dangers that can lurk within relationships, hidden behind the facade of love and trust.

The case has now moved forward with the arrest and jailing of Shafiq Ansari, as the police continue their investigation to understand the motives and circumstances that led to this tragic event.

Taking to X, Bihar Police informed about the accused person’s arrest and wrote, “The accused involved in the kidnapping and murder of a woman was arrested under Bhabhua police station area of Kaimur district. The knife used in the incident was also recovered from the arrested criminal.”

She Went Missing on 17th February

The incident occurred in Sasaram district, where it was discovered that Shafiq Ansari had disposed of his girlfriend's body in Manjhar Kund of Rohtas. This case has brought to light a tragic story of love and betrayal.

Shafiq Ansari, a 21-year-old man and the son of Mohammad Zakir Ansari from Gangwalia, Kudra, was reported to have been in a romantic relationship with a Hindu girl. She had recently traveled to Bhabhua to take an exam, but vanished on 17 February, sparking concern and a subsequent search.

After the exam, she stayed overnight with Shafiq Ansari in a rented house in Sasaram, within the jurisdiction of the Kudra police station in Kaimur. The following day, Shafiq led her to the secluded forests of Manjhar Kund in Rohtas. In a chilling turn of events, he bought a knife allegedly to cut an apple for her but used the opportunity to murder her instead.

Her disappearance prompted her family to conduct a thorough search, but to no avail. They then filed a missing person report at the Bhabhua police station, leading to the police's involvement. The investigation quickly focused on Shafiq, the girl's boyfriend. Upon his detention and rigorous interrogation by the police, Shafiq revealed the harrowing details of his crime, confessing to the murder.

Murder in Manjhar Kund of Rohtas

The accused, Shafiq Ansari, disclosed to the police the events leading to a tragic conclusion. On February 17, he took the girl to a rented house in Sasaram. The following day, on February 18, he brought her to Manjhar Kund in Rohtas under the guise of an outing. It was in this seemingly peaceful setting that the grim reality unfolded. With a knife, which he had ostensibly brought to cut an apple for his girlfriend, he instead used it to commit a heinous act of violence, stabbing and sliting her tjroat and then making his escape from the area. Following the guidance provided by the accused, law enforcement was able to recover the girl's body, along with her clothes and the knife used in the murder, marking a significant breakthrough in the case as they proceeded with their investigation.

Bhabua's Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Shivshankar Kumar, addressed the media to provide updates on the case. He revealed that the girl's body was found in the forested area of Manjhar Kund hill. When the police apprehended Shafiq, he confessed to the murder of his girlfriend. He detailed that the murder took place on February 18th, after which he concealed her body in the bushes of the hill. Alongside the tragic discovery of the girl's body, the police also found a knife at the scene, further solidifying the evidence against Shafiq. This case has drawn significant attention, underscoring the diligent efforts of the police in uncovering the truth and seeking justice for the victim.

Surat: 42-year-old auto driver Akhtar Raza Muniyar repeatedly molests 11-year-old girl while dropping her to & from school, used to stop the rickshaw for 8-10 mins near her residence for this, threatened to burn her if she told anyone, blames porn for it

In a deeply unsettling incident from Surat, a city renowned for its diamond polishing and textile industries, a young schoolgirl became a repeated victim of molestation.

In a landmark UP verdict, Anees Ahmed was sentenced to life for raping and converting a Hindu girl to Ayesha, posing as Akash; he also stole Rs 2.5 lakh & gold before leaving, court fined him Rs 4.56 lakh, with Rs 3.50 lakh as compensation to the victim

In a groundbreaking court decision dated March 6th, an individual by the name of Mohammad Anees Ahmed, originating from Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, faced a life imprisonment sentence. This judgement followed his conviction for the deceitful entrapment and subsequent religious conversion of a Hindu woman under false pretenses. This severe legal action was undertaken by a specialized SC/ST court located in Bulandshahr, which found him guilty under several laws, including the Religious Conversion Act, the SC/ST Act, and pertinent sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). In addition to the life sentence, the court mandated Ahmed to pay a penalty amounting to Rs 4.56 lakh, marking a pivotal moment in the enforcement of the state's laws against unlawful religious conversion.

This particular sentencing is notably the first instance where a life term has been imposed under the stringent provisions of the Prohibition of Unlawful Religious Conversion Act of Uttar Pradesh. This act, designed to curb forced conversions, underscores the gravity with which the state regards such offenses, especially when intertwined with deceit and exploitation.

The story of deception began when Mohammad Anees Ahmed assumed the false identity of a Hindu man, "Akash," to befriend a Dalit woman from Mangolpuri, Delhi. In a calculated move about eight months ago, he persuaded her to relocate to the Gulaothi area in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh. There, they started living together in a rented accommodation, a setup that was predicated on falsehoods and manipulative promises. Ahmed's repeated sexual relations with the woman were conducted under the hollow promise of marriage, a deceitful act that culminated in her forced conversion to Islam, subsequently renaming her "Ayesha."

After establishing a deceptive relationship under the guise of a different religious identity, the perpetrator, Mohammad Anees Ahmed, revealed his true religious affiliation to the victim. This revelation was not just a shock but also a precursor to a more alarming act: he forcefully converted her to Islam and gave her a new name, "Ayesha." This action marked a profound betrayal, shattering the trust she had placed in him. However, the breach of trust didn't end there. After some time, he left her, abandoning the woman he had vowed to marry. Before his departure, he committed theft, taking away Rs 2.50 lakh and her gold jewelry, leaving her in a state of financial and emotional ruin.

In her attempts to seek answers and closure, the victim reached out to him. Yet, instead of explanations or remorse, she was met with hostility and contempt. He insulted her using casteist slurs, stating, “I cannot marry you because you are a chamar,” before abruptly ending the communication. This rejection based on her caste was not only a personal attack but highlighted the deep-seated prejudices still prevalent in society, adding another layer of injustice to her ordeal.

The legal journey began when the victim took the courageous step of filing a complaint on April 27, 2022. Acting on her complaint, the police swiftly moved to compile evidence against Ahmed, resulting in a charge sheet submitted to the court. The seriousness with which the authorities treated this case is evidenced by the conduct of the trial under the auspices of the Monitoring Cell Bulandshahr in the High Court. The trial saw the testimony of five witnesses brought against the accused, a clear indication of the thoroughness with which the case was pursued. This legal action fell under “Operation Conviction,” a broader campaign led by the state’s Director General of Police aimed at ensuring justice through rigorous prosecution of offenders.

The legal proceedings took a significant turn when the public prosecutor presented the case details, emphasizing the meticulous process that led to the court's decision. According to the prosecutor, "The chargesheet was submitted in Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes (SC/ST) court after consideration. The case was registered on 15th March 2022. The female belongs to the SC/ST community while the culprit is a Muslim. The accused deceived the woman by pretending to be a Hindu, brought her to Gulaothi and later disclosed his true identity to her. He changed her religion and started calling her Ayesha. He then left her after taking her money and gold chain.” This statement encapsulates the gravity of the offense, highlighting the accused's calculated deception, exploitation, and eventual abandonment of the victim, coupled with financial theft, thereby exacerbating the betrayal.

Delving deeper into the legal framework applied to this case, the counsel elaborated on the specific laws under which the accused was charged and subsequently convicted. “Sections 376(2), 420, and 406 of the Indian Penal Code as well as 3, 2, and 5 of the SC/ST Act and 3/5 unlawful religious conversion act were involved against the perpetrator. He was pronounced guilty under all the charges and was given life imprisonment which means until his last breath and a penalty of Rs 4.56 lakhs of which Rs 3.50 lakh will be provided to the victim. This is the first case of this nature where a convict is penalised for religious conversion.” This comprehensive legal response underscores the severity of the crimes committed, encompassing fraud, breach of trust, theft, and the unlawful religious conversion under false pretenses. The sentencing not only holds the accused accountable for his actions but also aims to provide a semblance of restitution to the victim, with a significant portion of the penalty allocated for her recovery and rehabilitation.

The Additional Superintendent of Police provided insight into the efficiency and determination with which the authorities handled this case. He highlighted the swift action taken by the police, noting, "The police lodged the chargesheet in a little over a month and the authorities conducted a swift investigation." This rapid response underscores the seriousness with which the case was treated, ensuring that justice was not delayed. Furthermore, the meticulousness of the legal process was evident as "the police produced the witnesses in court on due dates." This ensured that all testimonies were heard in a timely manner, contributing to the thorough examination of the case.

Anees7Mar Anees pretended to be Aakash and turned Shashi into Ayesha, the convict got life imprisonment till his last breath

A notable aspect of the trial was the adaptation to technological solutions to overcome logistical challenges. The Additional Superintendent of Police mentioned, "The statement of the doctor who performed a medical examination on the victim was obtained through video conferencing as she had gone to Bengaluru for her postgraduate course and couldn’t physically appear in court." This innovative approach allowed for crucial evidence to be presented without hindering the victim's educational pursuits, showing a commitment to accommodating the needs and circumstances of those involved in the case.

He also pointed out the rarity of the punishment, stating that "it was a very rare punishment after the implementation of the Prohibition of Unlawful Religious Conversion Ordinance, 2020." This remark sheds light on the significance of the sentence handed down, marking it as a landmark decision under the relatively new legislation. The ordinance, aimed at preventing unlawful religious conversions, had seen one of its first major test cases culminate in a decisive action against the accused, reinforcing the law's intent and the state's resolve in upholding it.
