"The more hidden the venom, the more dangerous it is": Jawhar Sircar, Rajya Sabha MP from Trinamool Congress, spewed racist venom against Brahmins,” Education does little to cure these rogue and genetically haughty Brahmans", drew flak from SM users
In a tweet on November 6, author and political commentator Anand Ranganathan quoted Vikram Sampath as saying that the Islamic conquest of India was the bloodiest episode in history, resulting in the death of 80 million people and the auctioning of 2.5 million women and that it was ironic to name a railway station near Nalanda after Khilji, who burned Nalanda.

Reacting to the tweet, Jawhar Sircar, a Rajya Sabha MP from the Trinamool Congress, spewed racist venom against Brahmins, saying,” Education does little to cure these rogue and genetically haughty Brahmans. Just because casteist privileges of 1% were curtailed by Muslims, they convince, poison 99% of Indians into Islamophobia! Who ensured the destruction of all other grand Buddhist architecture? Brahmanic rulers.”

In a strong reaction to the tweet, Vikram Sampath pointed out that the level of racist venom spewed by Trinamool MP, Jawhar Sircar, who was once the CEO of Prasar Bharati, provides enough reason to push for civil service reforms.
This tweet of Jawhar Sircar has drawn flak from social media users.
Jawhar Sircar is a Member of the Parliament of India who represents the State of West Bengal. He was elected to the upper house, the Rajya Sabha, in August 2021 on a Trinamool Congress ticket. He has served as an Indian Administrative Service officer for 41 years (1975 to 2016), where he rose to the highest rank as Secretary to the Government of India. He headed India’s Culture Ministry from November 2008 to February 2012 and was then appointed as the CEO of India’s Public Broadcaster for five years (2012 – 2017) but he quit a few months prematurely.
