Takes only 10 rupees in donation
One special thing about Siyaram Baba (Saint Siyaram Baba) is that he takes only 10 rupees in charity . If someone donates more than Rs 10 to him, he returns the rest of the money. It is said that once some people from Argentina and Austria went to Baba's ashram to have darshan and they donated 500 rupees to Baba, but Baba took 10 rupees and returned the remaining money to them.
Apart from this, Siyaram Baba also gives his participation in social welfare, if media reports are to be believed, Baba had donated Rs 2 crore 57 lakhs for the repair of Narmada Ghat and for making a shed to avoid rain. Spend all the seasons in one 'Langot'
The story behind Baba's name is also interesting. It is said that Baba had kept silence for 12 years . Whereas, when he opened his mouth after 12 years, the first word that came out of his mouth was 'Siyaram'. Because of this the people of the village named him Siyaram and now Baba is known by the name of Siyaram Baba.
Apart from this, he also did Khadeshwar penance for 10 years . This is a difficult austerity, in which the ascetic has to do all the work of the day while standing, right from sleeping. All this was possible only because of Baba's yoga practice. It is said that during Baba's Khadeshwar penance, there was a flood in the Narmada river and the water came up to Baba's navel, but Baba remained in his place.
