In the bustling main market of Vikasnagar, a serious dispute erupted between street vendors Adil and Aman, who are residents of Madina Colony, and some youths from Jaunsar Bawar. As tensions heightened, one of the vendors struck Neetu Chauhan, a resident of Khatwa village in the Chakrata tehsil area, in the eye with an iron weight.

Late on Wednesday evening, a young man named Neetu Chauhan was purchasing fruits from a street vendor in the market. According to reports, a heated argument began between them over the price of the fruits. Two individuals, Aman and Adil, were at the cart during this time. In a fit of rage, the vendors attacked the young man. One of them picked up a stone and hit his eye with it, causing it to burst.

Local residents quickly came to Neetu Chauhan's aid and rushed him to the hospital for immediate medical attention. Following the assault, Aman and Adil fled the scene, leaving the area in a state of chaos. The swift actions of the local people helped Neetu receive timely treatment, but the incident has left a mark on the community, raising concerns about safety and the behavior of vendors in the market.

The authorities were alerted, and the outpost in Vikasnagar was soon encircled by concerned citizens demanding justice for the injured youth. The situation in the market remains tense as investigations are underway to apprehend the culprits and bring them to justice. The local police are actively searching for Aman and Adil, who are now on the run.

Following the altercation, the street vendor hit Neetu Chauhan's eye with an iron weight, seriously injuring him. Upon receiving the news, a large number of youths and members of Hindu organizations gathered in the main market and created a commotion. This led to a traffic jam in the market. Subsequently, they marched to the market outpost.

The doctor, observing the severity of the injury, referred the young man to a higher center in Dehradun. As soon as the news of the incident spread, a large crowd gathered at the site. The furious crowd overturned the vendor's cart and blocked the road. Due to the accused belonging to a particular community, members of Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad also arrived at the scene, and local residents started creating a commotion, leading to long lines of vehicles on both sides of the road.

This incident caused about an hour of chaos in the Vikasnagar market, during which local residents blocked the market. The police had to use batons to disperse the crowd and clear the blockade.

As the tension escalated, the local authorities had to intervene quickly to prevent the situation from worsening. The police were on high alert, ensuring that no further violence erupted. The members of Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad were particularly vocal, demanding immediate action against the perpetrators. Their presence added to the already charged atmosphere, making it challenging for the police to maintain order.

The roadblock created significant inconvenience for commuters, with vehicles lined up on both sides, unable to move. The local businesses in the market also suffered due to the disruption, with many shops forced to close early. The authorities' use of batons was a last resort to disperse the agitated crowd and restore normalcy.

There, they surrounded the outpost, demanding action against the accused and the removal of street vendors from the market. Hindu organizations warned that if the illegal street vendors are not removed by Thursday morning, they will surround the municipal corporation and block the national highway.

His companions took him to the sub-district hospital in an injured state.

The crowd surrounding the outpost was insistent on their demands, not willing to leave until they saw some concrete action. They were particularly concerned about the street vendors, whom they accused of being a source of trouble in the market. The threats to escalate their protest by blocking the national highway added a sense of urgency to the authorities' response.

News Spread Like Wildfire on Social Media

The news of the attack on the youth spread like wildfire on social media. A large number of youths from Jaunsar Bawar gathered in the market. Fearing chaos and vandalism, shopkeepers began to pack up their goods and close their shops.

Shortly thereafter, over 100 Hindu organization members and youths, including Rudrasena founder Rakesh Uttarakhandi, Juna Akhara's Mahamandaleshwar Prabodhanand Giri, Ankit Kansal, trader leader Bharat Kalra, student leader Kamlesh Bhatt, Vinod Rawat, Bhim Singh, Brijesh Chauhan, and Amarjeet Singh, gathered in the market and started shouting slogans. Hindu organization members also surrounded the market outpost.

Upon receiving the information, Inspector Rajesh Shah, along with police forces from Dakpatthar and Herbertpur outposts, reached the spot. He assured the crowd that the accused would be arrested soon, after which the Hindu organization members and youths calmed down. Inspector Rajesh Sah mentioned that no formal complaint had been received yet.

The police tried to reason with the protesters, but the angry crowd refused to clear the blockade. Consequently, the police had to use batons to disperse the crowd and open the road. He also stated that two teams had been formed to apprehend the accused.

The market remained in turmoil for about an hour. Local residents claimed that illegal street vendors are operating in the market. They accused the vendors, belonging to a specific community, of being of a criminal nature and attacking people over minor issues. This has created an atmosphere of fear and terror in the town.

The residents warned that if the municipal corporation and police do not remove the illegal street vendors from the roadside, they will shut down the market and start a fierce agitation on Friday.

Inspector Rajesh Shah stated that a complaint from the victim's side is being taken, and the accused will soon be arrested. He assured that strict action will be taken against the elements disrupting the peace of the town.

The market's hour-long unrest highlighted the community's growing concerns. Residents have repeatedly voiced their fears about the presence of illegal street vendors. They believe these vendors, who belong to a specific community, are prone to criminal behavior and tend to attack people over trivial matters. This perception has heightened the sense of fear and insecurity among the townspeople.

As tensions rose, residents issued a stern warning to the municipal corporation and the police. They made it clear that if the illegal vendors are not removed promptly, they will shut down the market and initiate a strong protest on Friday.

Inspector Rajesh Shah addressed the situation by confirming that the police are in the process of taking a formal complaint from the victim's side. He reassured the public that the accused will be arrested soon and emphasized that strict action will be taken against those disrupting the town's peace. The authorities are committed to restoring order and addressing the residents' concerns to ensure the safety and tranquility of the community.
