The whole nation celebrates Gandhi Jayanti with zeal and a patriotic fervour, paying homage to the Father of the Nation. However many people are unaware, that our Second Prime Minister- Lal Bahadur Shastri shared his birthday with his idol ‘Mahatma Gandhi’. Today, on the 112nd birth anniversary of Shastri Ji- known for his humility, honesty and morally elevated spectrum of thoughts; we wish to bring alive the reminiscence of the forgotten hero of Modern India!

Jawaharlal Nehru became India's first Prime Minister, thanks to Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi who arm-twisted the Congress into accepting him over the immensely popular and capable Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The Congress party's dynastic lackeys like to call Nehru the "architect of modern India". The claim, ironically, is true: Nehru is responsible for the lion's share of the problems that India has inherited from the 1940s through the early 1960s.

Tipu Sultan is often credited in our history textbooks as a ‘secular’ ruler of Mysore who fought against the British in the late 1700s. While the latter part of the sentence does hold merit, the former is nothing but blatant propaganda planted in History textbooks by the Congress party.

Hindus have experienced both historical and ongoing religious persecution and systematic violence, in the form of forced conversions, documented massacres, demolition and desecration of temples, as well as the destruction of educational centres. While massive in scale, some of these events may need to be viewed in their historical context and relative impact.

That there is today an India to think and talk about - wrote President Rajendra Prasad in his diary 'is very largely due to Sardar Patel's statesmanship and firm administration.

The Muslim League Council proclaimed 16th August 1946 as ‘Direct Action Day’ in order to accentuate their demand for a separate Muslim homeland after the British left the Indian subcontinent. Their main aim was to attain a different country with a Muslim majority.

It is believed that after the incident, the dead Hindus were ruthlessly loaded in trucks and transported in the dark of night to the ridge area outside Delhi. Without even checking that some of them may be alive, they were burnt.

What we are witnessing today is the spectacle of Kerala being turned into a graveyard of historical facts. Distorted and dubious historical narratives—manufactured in a bid to build an even more toxic narrative —are being reinforced and celebrated with scant regard for historical facts and events. The most disturbing and insensitive aspect of the whole exercise is the role played by so-called historians in pushing the fabricated narratives on a people who were hapless victims of one of the worst communal pogroms recorded in the annals of Indian history.

People of India were disheartened and disillusioned with the way ‘Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi’ aka ‘Mahatma Gandhi’ had accepted partition and allowed it to take place in 1947, combined with riots, destruction and unspeakable amount of bloodbath. But, soon after he was shot at by Nathuram Godse at 5:17 PM in the compound of Birla House in New Delhi on 30 January 1948, he was projected as demigod.
