A distressing case of love jihad has surfaced in Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, involving a deceitful act by a married Muslim doctor. The doctor, Ahabbar Hussain, cunningly assumed a Hindu identity, calling himself Aman Dixit, to attract a Hindu woman into a relationship, with the intent of forcibly converting her to Islam.

This alarming incident began when the victim, a Hindu woman originally from Kolkata, encountered Ahabbar Hussain. Hussain, who resides in Deoband, meticulously crafted a false persona as a Hindu man to set his love trap. Under this pretense, he successfully convinced the woman to marry him in Kolkata, adhering to Hindu matrimonial traditions, thereby concealing his true identity and religious background.

The gravity of the situation escalated after their marriage. The victim was taken to a residence near Deoband, where she was held against her will and brutally assaulted. It is important to note that Hussain has a history of multiple marriages, having been married five times, with four of his previous wives being Muslim.

On Monday, 1st July, the victim, who is also a mother of a seven-year-old girl, filed a police complaint in the Deoband police station area. In her complaint, she courageously narrated her harrowing experience, revealing how she was ensnared in Hussain's love trap and subsequently subjected to severe mistreatment and forced conversion.

As part of her complaint, she provided the authorities with photographic and video evidence from her wedding, which visibly documented the ceremonies conducted under Hindu traditions. This evidence plays a crucial role in substantiating her claims against Hussain.

Following the filing of the complaint, the police have registered an FIR and launched a comprehensive investigation into the accusations made against Ahabbar Hussain. The case has drawn significant attention, highlighting the severe implications of love jihad and the exploitation involved in such deceptive relationships, which not only betray the trust of the individual but also stir deep communal tensions.

Ahabbar’s friends raped the Hindu woman

Following her coerced marriage, the victim was forcibly brought to Deoband by the accused doctor, Ahabbar Hussain, where she endured further atrocities. She was confined in a room, locked away from any possible help. In this room, Ahabbar frequently assaulted her, committing acts of rape, and if she dared to protest, she faced even harsher physical assaults.

The conditions she lived under were dire. The accused neglected even the basic necessities, as she was not provided with adequate food. Further invading her privacy and autonomy, Ahabbar had installed CCTV within the room, which he used to monitor all her activities relentlessly, adding a layer of psychological torment to her physical suffering.

The situation escalated when Ahabbar Hussain’s acquaintances participated in the abuse. The victim explicitly named two individuals in her complaint: Doctor Arif and Shahzad. She accused them of raping her on the 25th June 2023, a specific instance of the ongoing abuse she faced during her captivity.

Distressed and desperate for justice, the victim has demanded stern action against all perpetrators involved in her ordeal. Her plea highlights not only her personal suffering but also calls attention to the need for rigorous legal measures to address and penalize such heinous crimes effectively. The case continues to unfold as authorities investigate her serious allegations against Ahabbar Hussain and his accomplices.

Victim’s minor daughter forced to convert to Islam

In a deeply troubling development from Deoband, it has come to light that not only the victim but also her 7-year-old daughter were forcibly converted to Islam by Ahabbar Hussain. The victim, an illiterate woman from West Bengal, expressed that her lack of familiarity with Hindi was exploited by the accused, Ahabbar Hussain. He deceitfully made her sign documents which she could not understand. These documents were later used to illegally generate Aadhar cards for both her and her daughter, further entrenching their forced assimilation into a different faith. By the time she realized Ahabbar Hussain’s true religious identity, she felt deeply ensnared in his calculated trap.

Ahabbar Hussain, who is a pediatrician at the Baby Care Hospital in Deoband, was vehemently denounced by the victim. In her poignant statement, she expressed a severe sentiment of retribution, saying, “He should be sent to jail. Otherwise, turn him over to me. I’ll burn him. He has caused us a great deal of pain.

I will commit suicide if I don’t get justice

Further escalating the severity of the situation, the victim has threatened drastic measures if justice is not served. In her formal complaint, she starkly stated that she would be driven to commit suicide if stern action is not taken against Ahabbar Hussain and his accomplices, Shahzad and Dr. Arif. The police, taking the complaint seriously, have filed an FIR against the accused under Section 376 D of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 5(1) of the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act 2021. Saharanpur’s Additional Superintendent of Police affirmed that they are pursuing all necessary legal actions to address and thoroughly investigate these grave accusations.

Ahabbar Husain’s Muslim wife comes out against him

In a significant development, Fauzia, the ex-wife of Dr. Ahabbar Hussain, has publicly denounced him. Originating from Saharanpur, Fauzia disclosed that she married Hussain 13 years ago. However, their marriage deteriorated, leading to Hussain abandoning her four years back. She has since been single-handedly raising their two daughters. Fauzia revealed that throughout their marriage, she was aware of Hussain marrying five times. She expressed concerns that beyond these acknowledged marriages, Hussain might have secretly married additional women. Echoing the sentiments of the Hindu victim involved in the recent case, Fauzia's primary demand is for Hussain to be incarcerated for his actions.

Hindu rights groups demand action against Ahabbar Hussain

The case has also caught the attention of Hindu rights groups, intensifying calls for legal action against Ahabbar Hussain. The Bajrang Dal, a prominent Hindu organization, has actively participated in advocating for justice. Vikas Tyagi, a member from the Saharanpur Bajrang Dal, pointed out that Hussain currently resides in Deoband with two of his wives, including the Hindu victim from the recent controversy. He highlighted that Hussain's marital network extends across different locations, with one wife in Sarsawa, another in Gangoh—both within Saharanpur—and a third in Dehradun. Tyagi has strongly urged for a thorough investigation into the multiple allegations against Hussain, emphasizing the necessity of a detailed inquiry to uncover the full extent of his alleged criminal activities.

This unfolding situation has not only highlighted individual grievances but also underscored broader societal and legal issues, prompting Hindu community leaders and rights groups to demand more stringent oversight and legal scrutiny to protect individuals from such exploitative practices.
