“We passed from laughter to terror which, like love and hate, are close relatives”: Muslim gangs are on Anti-Hindu rampage in Leicester city of England, terrorising Hindus, attempting to stab and vandalising property after India’s T20 win over Pakistan
Here is the remarkable diversity and inclusiveness British authorities have been working so hard to bring to their grateful people. Still, you have time to open your eye, O Hindus.

New Delhi: After India’s victory against Pakistan in the 28 August T20 match of the ongoing Asia Cup, well-organized Muslim gangs have been vandalizing and terrorizing Hindus in the UK’s Leicester City.
Videos of gangs escalating attacks on Hindus have been shared on Twitter.

“Gangs running riot and escalating attacks on Hindus. Innocent Hindus have been terrorized in their own properties, there have been attempts to stab and there has been rampant vandalism of Hindu properties,” one user wrote.
Meanwhile, in response to continued tensions, the local police have put special measures in place to contain the situation.
A number of people were filmed making offensive statements amid scenes of violence in the Belgrave area of the city, as per a report by LeicestershireLive.
Leicestershire Police said it was treating chants made by the men and related violence as ‘hate crimes'. Police have put in place special stop and search and dispersal measures in the neighborhoods of Belgrave, Rushey Mead, and Spinney Hills, among others.
Also, dispersal powers under Sections 34 and 35 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 have been authorized by Chief Superintendent Adam Slonecki which allows officers to return anyone under the age of 16 to their home address.

According to local media reports, notices can be issued for a period of up to 48 hours and anyone found breaching a notice is liable to be arrested and face further action.
Besides this, powers have also been granted by a senior officer under Section 60 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994. This allows officers to stop and search anyone in a specific area without needing to have reasonable grounds.
Amid all this, an emergency meeting between faith communities has also been called. A Leicestershire Police officer was also assaulted during the violence, as per reports.
Suleman Nagdi, the spokesman for the Federation of Muslim Organisations, said a meeting will be held with the police and other stakeholders to inform people what’s going on and give reassurances to the community that they are taking things seriously.

Emergency meeting to discuss ongoing tension between Muslims and Hindus in Leicester
An emergency meeting between faith communities will be held tomorrow amid ongoing tension between Muslims and Hindus in Leicester. Reports of further violence follow an incident on the Golden Mile a week ago which was caught on camera.
The incident - after the Pakistan vs India match on Sunday, August 28 - involved large groups of people, while racist chanting was heard. A Leicestershire Police officer was assaulted during the violence.
Since then, more attacks have been reported. Suleman Nagdi, the spokesman for the Federation of Muslim Organisations, said: "A meeting will be held tomorrow with the police and other stakeholders to inform people what's going on and give reassurances to the community that they are taking things seriously.
"I find it very worrying things like this should happen in a city like Leicester where we're used to such good relations. Sports should bring people together. We need to call for calm, tolerance, and peace."
He urged people to be careful what they post on social media. He said: "I've seen reports and videos of more attacks. Some could be old incidents but there are some that have been verified."
In one tweet this morning, a member of the public complained about more violence taking place, including an attack yesterday. He said: "Woke up to find out about another attack that took place last night in Leicester. Take action before it escalates."
The previously-reported Golden Mile incident followed an Asia Cup cricket match that saw India defeat Pakistan. After the match, hundreds of people poured out onto the main road through Belgrave in Leicester to celebrate.
|
Video footage of the incident showed the moment a fight broke out in Shaftesbury Avenue, off Melton Road. A man's T-shirt was ripped off as a number of men or youths were seen throwing punches at him and others.
Offensive anti-Pakistan chants could also be heard repeatedly. In the wake of the scenes, Leicestershire Police issued a warning urging people to avoid the area completely.
After the incident, Inspector Yakub Ismail, commander for the East Leicester police, said the police were working to ensure such things did not happen again. He said: “Our officers are there to protect our communities and we take a zero-tolerance approach to them being assaulted in their line of duty.
"Following the events of Sunday evening, local officers are continuing to engage with young people, community leaders, and stakeholders in the area. We want to ensure that any future celebrations are organized in a planned, safe, and considerate manner.”
In the days following the match, the police organized special patrols in the area. Tomorrow's meeting will not be open to the general public but will involve representatives from the communities involved, the police, and Leicester City Council.
