During the initial interrogation, the two sharpshooters revealed they were tasked to target Punjabi singer Elly Mangat. Furthermore, they told police that other VVIPs were their target.

Speaking to the media, Special Commissioner of Delhi Police HGS Dhaliwal said, “Two sharpshooters affiliated with international terrorist and gangster Arshdeep Singh Dalla, alias Arsh Dalla, have been arrested. The captured shooters are identified as Rajpreet Singh, alias Raja, also known as Bamb, and Veerendra Singh, alias Vimmi. They were apprehended near the Akshardham Temple, Mayur Vihar, on the main road. Arsh Dala had assigned them the task of eliminating Punjabi singer Elly Mangat. Attempts to carry out this task in October 2023 were unsuccessful as the singer was not at home during the specified time.”

The arrest of two sharpshooters affiliated with the notorious gangster Arshdeep Singh Dalla sheds light on the continuing threats posed by Khalistani elements. The revelation that their primary target was Punjabi singer Elly Mangat raises concerns about the safety of public figures, emphasizing the need for heightened security measures. The Special Commissioner's statement underscores the international reach of these criminal networks, with Arsh Dalla's connection to Canada adding a layer of complexity to the situation. As the investigation unfolds, it becomes crucial to understand the motives and network behind these individuals, ensuring comprehensive action to dismantle such threats to public safety.

"Dhaliwal added, “During the encounter, the suspects fired five rounds, with two of them hitting a police officer’s bulletproof vest. In response, the police team fired six rounds at the suspects. A revolver and six live cartridges were recovered from one shooter, while the other had a 30mm pistol, seven live cartridges, and a hand grenade. Additionally, a stolen bike was also seized.”

In the intense encounter, the suspects didn't hesitate to use firearms, firing five rounds that posed a direct threat to law enforcement. The bravery of the police team is evident in their swift response, firing six rounds to neutralize the threat. The recovery of a revolver, live cartridges, a 30mm pistol, and even a hand grenade indicates the severity of the potential harm these individuals could have caused. The stolen bike adds another layer to their criminal activities, suggesting a network involved in various illicit operations.

After the suspects were apprehended, the investigative process began with questioning, leading to crucial information. Subsequent raids were carried out at the premises associated with Sachin Bhati, another accomplice of the two arrested individuals. The fact that weapons were recovered during this raid highlights the interconnected criminal network and the importance of dismantling it. The police's swift action in making additional arrests and seizing weapons signifies a comprehensive effort to curb criminal activities linked to these individuals.

Who are Rajpreet Singh and Veerendra Singh? Both individuals hail from Punjab, a detail that adds geographical context to their criminal activities. The charges they face, spanning from extortion to murder and attempted murder, underscore the severity of their criminal involvements. Unraveling the details of their backgrounds, connections, and motivations will be crucial in understanding and addressing the broader criminal network they are a part of."

"In 2017, Rajpreet was granted bail in a murder case and he has been on the run since then. On the other hand, Veerendra was wanted in connection to a firing incident outside a jewellery shop and demanding extortion from the shop owner. He faced multiple charges under various sections of the Indian Penal Code including 186, 353, 307, and 34.

The history of Rajpreet's criminal activities is alarming, having been granted bail in a murder case in 2017. The fact that he has been on the run since then raises concerns about the efficacy of the legal system in tracking and bringing to justice individuals with such serious criminal records. Veerendra, on the other hand, was wanted in connection to a violent incident outside a jewellery shop, involving firing, and extortion demands from the shop owner. The charges against him under sections 186, 353, 307, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code suggest a pattern of violent and criminal behavior.

Who is Arshdeep Dalla? Arshdeep Singh or Arshdeep Dalla, a 27-year-old gangster from Dalla village in Punjab, is affiliated with Khalistani terrorist organizations such as Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF) and the International Sikh Youth Federation (ISYF). Currently residing in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, with his wife and minor daughter, he holds a passport issued from Jalandhar in 2017. His connections to Canadian gangster Goldy Brar, who claimed responsibility for assassinating controversial Congress leader and singer Sidhu Moosewala, further underscore his involvement in organized crime and acts of violence. Understanding the background and affiliations of individuals like Arshdeep Dalla is crucial for authorities to address the root causes of such criminal networks and prevent their activities from spreading further."

"Dalla, operational since 2020, has been deeply entrenched in nefarious activities, including terror funding, establishing terror modules, coordinating weapon supply, and orchestrating targeted killings in Punjab. The intelligence dossier on Dalla underscores his alarming kill record, surpassing even the KTF leader and Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, whose assassination in Canada remains shrouded in mystery, possibly a casualty of gang warfare.

The collaboration between Dalla, Nijjar, and others in various criminal enterprises paints a disturbing picture of organized crime networks operating with impunity. Dalla's involvement in plotting an attack on a Hindu priest in Phillaur, Punjab, raises serious concerns about the calculated violence orchestrated by such individuals. Furthermore, his admission to the murder of Manohar Lal in Bathinda and Sukhpreet Singh, both with criminal ties, exposes the extent of his criminal activities. Collaborating with figures like Bikram Brar and Goldy Brar has fueled the formation of KTF modules, intensifying the urgency for robust measures to dismantle these networks and ensure public safety."

"In January 2022, Dalla orchestrated a sinister plot to target the SSP of Moga, Harmanbir Singh Gill, along with two CIA inspectors. The audacious plan underscores the brazenness of his criminal activities, posing a direct threat to law enforcement authorities. Moreover, reports indicate his collaboration with individuals like Gurjant Singh Janty and Lakhbir Singh Rode to establish a KTF module in Haryana, extending the reach of his illicit network.

Adding to the gravity of the situation, Dalla spearheaded the formation of a 7-member KTF module in Punjab, specifically designed to target individuals. One of the identified targets was Pritpal Singh Boddy, an immigration consultant based in Mohali. This calculated move points to Dalla's strategic approach in expanding his criminal operations, posing a significant challenge to the security apparatus in the region. The urgency to curb his influence and dismantle such modules becomes paramount to safeguarding potential victims and maintaining public order."
