In an exciting event, the six-month-long statewide 'En Mann En Makkal' (My Soil, My People) Padayatra, led by K Annamalai, the President of BJP Tamil Nadu, has officially begun on July 28, 2023, from the revered town of Rameswaram. This Yatra is a profound endeavor that aims to traverse the entire state of Tamil Nadu, culminating in Chennai on January 11, 2024. The journey's focus is to shed light on the various development initiatives carried out by the Modi government in the past nine years in each constituency.

The charismatic BJP State President, K Annamalai, expressed his enthusiasm for the Yatra during a media interaction, stating that it spans a remarkable 168 days across 234 constituencies. During this period, the Yatra participants will meet with beneficiaries, engage in meaningful interactions with the people, and gather their good wishes for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Beyond these interactions, the second phase of the Yatra holds even more significance, aiming to evoke a profound sense of unity with the soil and the people of Tamil Nadu.
Annamalai emphasized that this unique Tamil spirit, deeply rooted in Bharatiya culture, will not succumb to any forces that seek to undermine Tamil culture and exploit its invaluable resources. Moreover, he confidently asserted that when Prime Minister Modi returns to power for the third consecutive term, Tamil Nadu will contribute more MPs and address the corruptions faced by DMK.
The Yatra's official launch in Rameswaram was graced by the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who arrived at Madurai airport and reached the venue to inaugurate the padayatra on Friday. Elaborate security measures were put in place, with around 2,000 personnel deployed across the district, including the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and other central agencies, to ensure a safe and smooth event.

The venue itself was adorned with an abundance of BJP flags and posters, while the stage was designed in the shape of the new Parliament building, adding grandeur to the occasion.
K Annamalai divulged the comprehensive plan for the campaign, which will unfold in five distinct phases. Covering a staggering 1,700 kilometers on foot, the remaining distance will be traversed using a specially arranged vehicle for the padayatra. The Yatra's ambitious goal is to conclude on January 11, 2024, just before the Lok Sabha polls, having reached out to all 234 Assembly constituencies.
The BJP leader extended invitations to its allies, encouraging their active participation in the Yatra, which aims to highlight the achievements of Prime Minister Modi and garner public support for his third term.
One of the highlights of the Yatra's launch event was the distribution of around 1 lakh copies of the book titled 'What Did Modi Do.' This move is aimed at informing the people about the remarkable accomplishments of the NDA government over the past nine years, emphasizing the positive impact on various constituencies.
The Padayatra has received overwhelming support from the public, with more than one lakh people registering to join on the first day. Prominent leaders from BJP's alliance partners, including All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), Puthiya Thamizhagam, and Tamil Maanila Congress, have also been invited to participate.
|
Annamalai's itinerary includes interacting with the people in Muthukulathur, Paramakudi, and Thiruvadanai in the upcoming days, continuing the journey with street corner and grama sabha meetings. A series of ten large public meetings, featuring the participation of Cabinet ministers, are also planned to invigorate the enthusiasm for the BJP in the region.
The first phase of the padayatra is expected to encompass several parliamentary constituencies, including Ramanathapuram, Sivaganga, Madurai, Theni, Virudhunagar, Thoothukudi, Kanyakumari, and Tirunelveli, taking nearly a month to complete.
With the BJP's substantial support base in the Ramanathapuram Lok Sabha constituency, evidenced by their significant vote share in previous elections, the Yatra is poised to be a defining moment in Tamil Nadu's political landscape.

In conclusion, K Annamalai's Padayatra 'My Soil, My People' sets the stage for an inspiring and transformative journey across Tamil Nadu. The Yatra's noble objective of highlighting developmental efforts, invoking Tamil spirit, and rallying support for Prime Minister Modi's leadership adds a sense of purpose and anticipation.
With enthusiastic participation from various political allies and a burgeoning number of supporters, the Yatra is on track to leave an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of the people, paving the way for a new era in the state's political narrative.
