"जानलेवा मुहिम": Recent sabotage incidents have involved various culprits, such as Afsan and YouTuber Gulzar Sheikh, placing hazardous objects on railway tracks including alloy wheels, iron rods, cycles & stones, deliberately intended to cause derailments
On the evening of Friday, 23rd August, a potential disaster was narrowly averted when the Farrukhabad Express, operating its regular route between Kasganj and Farrukhabad, encountered an unexpected obstacle. The incident, which unfolded under the cloak of night, began when the train suddenly came into contact with a wooden log deliberately placed on the railway track.

According to detailed reports, the train was in full motion when it unexpectedly struck the log, resulting in a sharp, alarming jolt. Reacting swiftly to the imminent danger, the loco pilot took immediate action by applying the emergency brakes, a decision that undoubtedly prevented a major accident. The quick thinking and prompt response of the pilot brought the train to a complete stop, avoiding potential injuries or worse.
In the aftermath of the stop, railway workers promptly arrived at the scene to assess and address the situation. They discovered that the wooden log had become lodged in the train’s engine. After ensuring the safety and structural integrity of the engine, the workers removed the log and thoroughly cleared the track to prevent any further issues.
The entire ordeal lasted approximately 25 minutes, after which the train was able to resume its journey towards Farrukhabad. Upon arrival at the next scheduled stop, Shamshabad railway station, the loco pilot officially reported the incident. This quick resolution and the professionalism displayed by all involved ensured that the passengers' safety was maintained, and service disruptions were minimized.

This event raises serious concerns about the safety of railway operations and the possibility of deliberate interference. Such acts not only endanger lives but also disrupt essential transport services.
On the crisp morning of Saturday, 24th August, a coordinated effort to unravel the recent disturbing events on the railway tracks saw a comprehensive investigative team converging at the crime scene. This team, comprising experts from Kasganj and Bareilly, was meticulously assembled to probe the unsettling incidents of potential sabotage affecting train operations.
Accompanying the investigators were several key units essential for a thorough examination: the Government Railway Police (GRP), the Railway Protection Force (RPF), and a highly trained dog squad. These groups brought a diverse array of expertise and investigative tools to the scene, indicating the seriousness with which the authorities are treating the matter. In a further step to gather clues and insights, the team extended their investigation to the neighboring villages, engaging with locals and scouring the area for any signs of unusual activities or potential culprits.
Regrettably, this incident is not an isolated occurrence but part of a troubling pattern of events that have raised significant safety concerns. Notably, on the night of 17th August, another alarming incident took place when the engine of the Sabarmati Express derailed near Govindpuri station in Kanpur. This derailment, occurring under similarly suspicious circumstances, prompted an immediate response from the highest levels of the railway ministry.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw promptly addressed the public, revealing that the derailment was caused by an object intentionally placed on the railway track. The investigations following the incident uncovered that a broken piece of railway track had been strategically placed on the train line to facilitate this derailment.

Continued Concerns as Railway Sabotage Incidents Escalate
In a disturbing continuation of recent events, another suspected act of sabotage has come to light, this time involving the Nainpur Jabalpur train. The incident unfolded near Kachhpura station when the engine of the train collided with an extraneous iron rod strategically placed on the track. This deliberate act of interference thankfully did not lead to a derailment, but the potential for severe consequences was unmistakably high.
Upon investigating the scene, railway authorities made a concerning discovery: three iron rods, each approximately 15 feet in length, were seized from the spot. This alarming find underscores the severity and premeditation behind these sabotage attempts, pointing to a troubling trend of increasing risks along railway lines.

This recent case is part of a series of deliberate attempts to compromise railway safety. On Thursday, 22nd August, the Aligarh Railway Police took decisive action by charging an individual named Afsan. He was accused of deliberately placing an alloy wheel on the railway track, with the clear intention of derailing a moving train. This incident, which occurred on 20th August, was reported as a deliberate attempt to recreate the horrific Kanpur rail accident that had previously occurred on 17th August.
Earlier this month, the issue of railway track sabotage took a bizarre turn with the arrest of a YouTuber named Gulzar Sheikh. Sheikh was apprehended for placing various items on railway tracks, including cycles, soaps, and stones, purportedly in pursuit of content creation. This act not only endangered lives but also highlighted the irresponsible and potentially catastrophic actions spurred by the quest for viral content on social platforms.
These incidents collectively signal a grave security challenge for railway authorities and demand a robust response to safeguard passengers and rail infrastructure. The repeated attempts at sabotage not only disrupt train operations but also pose significant risks to public safety, necessitating urgent and effective measures to combat this growing threat.
