"The first and worst of all frauds is to cheat oneself, and Bollywood is not learning": Released on bail, film critic & Deshdrohi actor Kamaal R Khan says he is back for revenge, netizens claim he was sent to jail to prevent him from reviewing Brahmastra
Film critic Kamaal Rashid Khan posted a cryptic tweet, saying that he is back for retribution following his release from jail after obtaining bail in the cases against him. In the tweet, KRK wrote, “I am back for my vengeance.” The tweet was made at 08:11 AM on Monday morning.

Kamaal R Khan was granted bail on Wednesday by a magistrate court in Mumbai’s Borivali in the case involving his controversial tweets from the year 2020.
|
Khan was arrested on August 29 for tweeting disparaging remarks against Rishi Kapoor and Irrfan Khan. Rahul Kanal, a Yuva Sena member, filed a complaint against KRK in April 2020.

The Deshdrohi actor has recently courted controversy for blaming actress Anushka Sharma for the alleged depression of cricketer Virat Kohli.

In a now-deleted tweet, KRK remarked, “Virat Kohli is the first cricketer in India who is having a problem of depression. Ye hai result ek heroine se shaadi karne ka. She must have put in his head that he is having a depression problem.”
KRK is one controversial figure in Bollywood. The Deshdrohi actor is known for his nasty digs at other Bollywood members and their films. Not just that he is also pretty famous for reviewing film trailers and giving his honest view for the same. Right before being arrested, KRK has also fallen into the pit of legal troubles with Salman Khan. His recent arrest was quite shocking to many. What is more shocking is the fact that he is not being released from jail even after being granted bail by the court and fans are blaming it all on Brahmastra.
On August 12, the ‘Deshdrohi’ actor uploaded a 13-minute long review of the Aamir Khan starrer on Youtube. In his review, KRK has accused Aamir Khan of unnecessarily dragging the movie like chewing gum. “The film has added especially extra 15 minutes to show the greatness of the people of Pakistan,” he added.
Rishi Kapoor is uncle of Kareena Kapoor Khan, who starred along with Aamir Khan in Laal Singh Chaddha. Khan has been quite vocal about criticising the film and has mocked its low collection.
On Thursday, September 8, the son of KRK took to Twitter to request assistance, claiming that his father’s life is in danger. Faisal Kamaal said in a Twitter post on September 8 (Thursday) that his father was being tortured at the Mumbai jail where he was held. KRK’s son claimed that his father’s life was in jeopardy and asked for help from Bollywood stars Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Several social media users suspected a plot behind KRK’s recent arrest in a 2020 case as the film critic famous for lampooning Bollywood actors and directors was given bail after 9 days in jail. The arrest of KRK, who had been criticizing Aamir Khan’s Lal Singh Chadda, which became one of the worst-performing Bollywood films in recent memory, was assumed to be connected to Karan Johar and Ranbir Kapoor’s new release Brahmastra.
Some Twitter users said that KRK was imprisoned shortly before the release of Brahmastra because the directors and Karan Johar were terrified of his honest assessment of the film. Others stated that Karan Johar intended to gain from his upcoming movie Brahmastra, but this would not have been feasible if KRK had shared his review before the film’s release. So, in order to prevent him from evaluating the film, a plan to have him arrested was devised, according to a few Twitter users.
Taking it to their Twitter handles, netizens are now pointing out that KRK is being held back in jail right before Brahmastra’s release as the makers and Karan Johar fear his honest review of the film. Netizens are also calling it Karan’s master game as he wanted to mint money from Brahmastra’s success and that it won’t be possible owing to the fact that KRK would release his review before the release.
|
Netizens said that Karan Johar wanted to make profits from his upcoming movie Brahmastra but it wouldn’t have been possible if KRK would share his review before the film’s release. So to stop him from reviewing the film, the plan to get him arrested was hatched, claimed a few Twitter users.
|
|
Another Twitter user @ayushtweets went on to call KRK’s arrest Karan Johar’s ‘masterclass’, and added that KRK would be released on bail only 7-10 days after Brahmastra’s release

It remains to be seen if Kamaal R Khan posts his review of Brahmastra now after his release or not.
Karan Johar’s Brahmastra faces boycott calls
Johar’s Brahmastra came under attack after its lead actress Alia Bhatt told people that they were under no compulsion to watch her movie. Besides, a video of actor Ranbir Kapoor, who is playing the protagonist in the movie, surfacedwhere he said he was a beef-eating foodie. This too attracted a lot of criticism. To add fuel to the fire, the Hinduphobic tweets of Dharma Productions’ Development Executive Shreemi Verma also went viral on social media.
With the screenshots of her anti-Hindu tweets, netizens started to post on Twitter that she is associated with Dharma Productions, and linked to the upcoming movie Brahmastra. Netizens called for a boycott of the movie for its association with such a Hinduphobic person. She eventually deactivated her account to control the backlash of her remarks
