New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a protester identified as Harpreet Singh snatched a policeman’s car and escaped on Tuesday. While cops chased him, he has attacked a SHO with his sword when cornered at Muqarba chowk. Tried to steal a scooter & flee but finally nabbed after high voltage drama. Booked for carjacking/attempted murder.

Delhi Police told news agency ANI that the protester was in an inebriated state when he attacked the police officer.

Farmers have been protesting at the different borders of the national capital since November 26 against the three newly enacted farm laws: Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020; the Farmers Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act 2020 and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.
