In a significant judgment passed by the Kokrajhar Court on 13th August, Injamamul Haque, a 30-year-old man, was sentenced to 15 years in prison along with hard labour. The verdict was delivered by Special Judge Jaydev Koch, who found Haque guilty of abducting and raping a minor girl. The disturbing crime took place on 17th January 2022, leaving the community in shock and distress.

In a shocking incident reported on Friday, 9th August, Salman Waheed, a 40-year-old man, was apprehended by Karachi Police for his heinous acts at the Korangi graveyard in Karachi. According to a report by ARY News, which cited police sources, Waheed was caught in the act of desecrating graves and was subsequently arrested. This disturbing behavior, known as necrophilia, involves committing sexual acts with corpses.

In a disturbing development from Bangladesh, protests against the government have sharply escalated into outright violence targeting the Hindu minority. In a harrowing incident that has shocked the community, a young boy, Mohammad Ayan, was tragically killed inside a madrasa in the Balrampur district of Uttar Pradesh. The incident, which occurred on the night between the 1st and 2nd of August, led to the arrest of a fellow student, also a minor, by the police on the 4th of August.

Approximately 10 days ago, on July 23rd, a chilling discovery was made near a canal in the New Town area of Kolkata. Local workers clearing the overgrown vegetation stumbled upon a horrifying sight—a body was found encased in a red trolley bag, abandoned and soaked in blood, according to the police.

Tragedy struck in Dharavi, Mumbai, on Sunday night when Arvind Vaishya, a 26-year-old member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), was fatally stabbed amidst a local dispute. At the onset of July this year, a grave and unsettling incident surfaced when a report by Satyaagrah revealed that a Hindu woman lodged a formal complaint against her Muslim spouse in Lucknow. This distressing case implicated not only the husband but also six additional individuals, with names including Monika, Tabassum Saeed, Najam, Fahim, and Ashifuddin, plus a number of unidentified persons. The central figure in this case, Mohammed Saifuddin, is a native of Bidar, Karnataka, whereas the plaintiff, referred to here as Ankita Sharma (a pseudonym to protect her identity), comes from Baharaich district, Uttar Pradesh, and is currently residing in Lucknow.

Tensions flared at Nirmala College in Muvattupuzha, Kerala, where a storm of controversy brewed as the institution denied Muslim female students the facility to conduct their Friday prayers on the premises. This Catholic college, under the governance of the Kothamangalam diocese, became the epicenter of dissent starting from July 26. On the 26th of July, the Maharashtra Police took decisive action against four individuals, Shadab Tamboli, Yusuf Chaughule, Kunal Shirole, and Ayaz Pathan, following allegations of prolonged criminal conduct against a minor girl in Ghargaon village, located in Ahmednagar district. These men, known for their criminal backgrounds, are accused of harassing, sexually assaulting the minor, and even threatening her life over a span of approximately two years.

One such case involves Roshni, a young woman from Chandigarh, who was misled into a deceptive marriage under the guise of interfaith harmony. Naseem, a local resident of Bijnor, portrayed himself as a Hindu named Akash, only to betray her trust later.
